E visas are a category of nonimmigrant work visas designed for individuals engaged in international trade or investment in the U.S. Similar to entrepreneur visas, there are two main visa types within the E category: E-1 (Treaty Trader) and E-2 (Treaty Investor).
Both the E-1 and E-2 visas offer significant advantages for both individual entrepreneurs and businesses aiming to establish a professional presence in the U.S. Before applying for an E-1 or E-2 visa for your business, it’s important to determine whether you belong to a qualifying E-1 or E-2 treaty country. While certain countries are eligible for both E-1 and E-2, others may only qualify for one of the two.

Where to Find an Updated List of Eligible Treaty Countries
The Bureau of Consular Affairs (as part of the U.S. Department of State) provides an up-to-date list of all treaty countries and which visa classification countries are eligible for. As noted above, some countries are eligible for both E-1 and E-2, while some countries are only eligible for one of the two classifications.
